    Default A dozen money boxes

I had a request to make money boxes for a family of a four youngsters. Each child will have 3 boxes, each one will have a different letter on it.
Box # 1 the letter L for living expenses
    Box # 2 A for assets
    Box # 3 R for retirement.
The parents hope this will learn them the value of money.
The 3 boxes will also be in a box.
The boxes were to be made of various local timbers, Pine, Ash, Blackwood and Redgum.
All were make from 100 x 8 mm material. After all timber machined to size, mitres were cut on my 20 year old Makita Tradesmens saw bench,( no $3 or $4 thousand table saw)with a sliding table.
Edges were mitred on a 6inch Jointer, just about my age.
All pieces were spot on when glued up. A few snaps of various stages ,items still to be sprayed on a warm day. John.

They look great John. Do you do the spline slots before you glue the sides together?
I hope we get to see them before they go to their new home.

Great project and congrats to the parents for attempting to teach their kids responsibility. Many parents now days seem to forget that is their job.
