    When you put them all together like that, it's amazing what opportunities there are for creative juices to flow when making boxes. And all from one maker too. Good stuff!

    The carcass was Black Walnut with corner stringers down with sycamore, to hide some very poor mitred corners (done on an SCMS saw that had allowed some slippage owing to insufficient clamping to the saw table), the top decorations at corners was likewise. The lid was some veneer given to me by an English forum member.

    Great variety. I am surprised there were so many still available, or were they photographed before going to new homes?
    Also like how you made a mistake and then turned it into a feature.
    Particularly like the breadth of design. All your own plans and designs or did you have external inspiration?

    To Sea dragon,
    Lost three of the boxes yesterday (how did you know) its half term time here in England and the daughter and family visited. I had to stipulate that this and that box couldnt go etc.
    The single tower box was a copy I saw when visiting a forum member (AlexS) and the triple tower was inspired to just avoid being a copist, I think all the other boxes just came about because the timber species/ lengths were available . I have got a couple of books on boxes but todate I havent used a plan or design from them yet. But it would be nice to pull out a book and make some of them as well.
    Although fully retired 18 hours a day are fully occupied and I cant seem to get anymore time to get stuck into some of them.
