Another couple of options would be Photography or Travel but that one seems fairly dormant. Alexs' suggestion does appear to be the most active forum.
Let us know where you put them so we can have a look as I always enjoy looking at photos of other countries.

Thanks to Alexs and Treecycle, I will post photos from my country travel but at first I need to prepare a short story. I think the photos with short story will tell more.
By the way between orders of standard boxes I've started two boxes with scrollsawed lids. There are two photos 'work in process' - one box is glued and the second one in the clamps.
The 'work names' are the following 'New Zealand's stockfish' and 'Angry stockfish'.
New Zealand just because it is liked to some Maori ornament, and angry because it is angry
    Why stockfish?
In exURSS country as always we drink beer with salted dryed fish. The common names of this fish (different kind of fish) but rather the name of dish - 'vobla' or 'taranka'. I wrote stockfish because this is English name of salted fish.IMG_20210825_191653.jpgIMG_20210825_191710.jpg

Have you considered making the tops from two pieces of wood with the scroll saw pattern only in the top piece then gluing on the bottom piece?

Yes, of course. As a making the tops with marquetry too. I think that some future projects will be made from two pieces of wood of different colours, or the ornament of dark colour wood (alder) will be glued to the lid made from light colour wood (pine).
Frankly spoken exists so many different box's designs and even with two wood - pine and alder you can spend years for making each one.
That's because I'm here, in this forum and in this theme - BOX MAKING.

It is dark (black) wood oil. But you, Treecycle (Dallas is right?) should be nice to the New Zealand rugby national team. One box is named as "New Zealand angry fish"
I've viewed the New Zealand "All Blacks" team presentation or foreword (sorry, don't know enough English).....

Are you still fret sawing the ornamentation by hand? Looks great.

Snikolaev28, your last post in this forum was on 22 February, just two days before the start of the conflict in your country, but nothing since then.

The photos that you took across your country (post #29) before the conflict and the words you wrote/write about them (post #32) are going to be invaluable now!

I do hope that you and your family are safe.
    Stay sharp and stay safe!

    NeilS,
Thank you very much for your wishes! I'm fine, my family too. We are staying in our city Dnipro and we do enough well. But sometimes (from 2-3 till 7-9 times per 24 hours) we have red air alerts, sometimes we are hearing strong explosions - some from russian rockets but most from our air defense units. Life is life even in the war conritions. I think I will start a new thread in the 'Joke' with sketches and caricatures describing this war.

In any cases fresh and popular in Ukraine joke about Boris Johnson and his nationality.

There are well known some facts about surnames with origins in Scotland and Ireland.

Well - when you see or hear people with surname like MacNee, MacMillan, MacNally, MacGill, Macinroy, MacMaster you clearly understand that this man/woman relates to Scotland because these are Scottish surnames.

When you see somebody with surname like O'Bryan, O'Connor, O'Sullivan you clearly understand that grand-grandfather of this man/woman came from Ireland.

In Ukraine exist a lot of Ukranian surnames, but the surnames ending 'UK' points to Ukrainian origin of surname and people with this surname.
So the surnames as Kravchuk, Yaremchuk, Khaverchuk with UK at the ending are Ukranian surnames.

So we step by step go to the explanation "Who is Boris Johnson?"

In his twitter or somewhere else Boris Johnson finishes his posts like this "Boris Johnson UK", our people read as "Boris JohnsonUK" - our British Ukrainian.

Well, I think it's enough to post here, tomorrow I will create an appropriate thread.
