    Default humidor

New to the forum, pics of a recently completed humidor for a friend who is a big Philadelphia Eagles fan. Box is padauk, veneers are birdseye maple, walnut, wengle and a funky dyed veneer I found. Marquetry on top was one of my first attempts.

Nice looking box. I have to make a cigar box starting this weekend so I am gathering ideas. The holes in the tray allow air to flow I assume? What are the dimensions? I am thinking about 6.5" so as to take most cigars.

The holes are for ventilation, the top tray is removable, so cigars can be stored below as well. Inside dimensions are 7.5" by 9.5"

That's a handsome humidor. Your friend will be very pleased. If you don't already know this, Thompson Cigar Company can sell you the hygrometers and stuff for the inside.

    Good choice of woods, btw.

That is a great looking Humidor. Love the combination of woods and the inlay work is real nice.

You know while driving around to local cigar stores looking for the traditional humidifiers, I was told by all that these new gel crystals that come in a jar, work much better.

Although I think I will go with the more traditional hygrometer and humidifier next time for looks.
