    Default Another jewellery box

My first box in a long time. A jewellery box for a friend. Re-cycled Australian Red Cedar, with Victorian Ash trim. Finished with Orange oil and 2 coats wax.

P.S. The black spots are in the camera, not the box.

beautiful - love the way the red lining draws the eye and sets off the timber and highlights the top.

Very nice. Did you do the inlay yourself? Doesn't look like a bought pattern. What did you use for the lining?

    Default Lining

Thanks for the comments. The inlay is a bought one. I'm not up enough to making my own yet. The lining is imitation suede from Spotlight.

    Great design. Well done!
I'm thinking the ash trim might have sat better with a mitre join, but it doesn't detract from an impressive box. Bet your friend is pleased!
