Just Another Jewellery Box
This one was started about 12 months ago, can't rush into things???
The box measures 250mm x 190mm and 90mm deep, made from some quilted maple supplied by John G. The inlay on the lid is American maple veneer with shop made veneer banding and matching motif. The two trays are made from silver ash, again from John G. The tray bottoms and the box bottom are all fitted with red felt. There is a ring compartment in one of the trays. All the joints in the trays are mitred.
Finish is three sprayed coats of lacquer and buffed.

Very classy result. The plinth/foot takes the box to another level. And the hinges are?

Very nice box there Powderpost, lovely result. Women love compartments and ring compartments in their jewellery boxes. Nice finger joints also.

Beautiful piece as always Jim!
Love the way you incorporate the edge-banding! - bought myself some a while back but still haven't worked out what I'm going to do with it - gotta break out of this solid timber lid fixation! Might drop in for some ideas when I pass by this winter.
