New Jewellery box
Hi guys,
I've just finished this jewellery box and thought I'd put it on here. I had the idea (probably not an original idea though) of using sliding dovetails for the drawer runners and after a lot of mucking around I got it all to line up.
I reckon the drawers might bind a bit when the timber expands and contracts with the weather but it was a fun project anyway. It is maple finished with Danish oil.To be old and wise you must first be young and stupid!

That's really neat! I've never seen that done before. Must have taken some precision machining to get it all working right. I like the beer coasters on the top as well. Now why have I never thought of that?
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Nice looking box. I like it. Your drawer slides are most probably in the worst environment now - winter. Unless of course your heating really drys out the house air, beause in summer your heat is relatively dry. So all going well, should be no problems

Certainly unique--I've never seen dove tails used for slides. If you are lucky, you may have enough clearance so that the weather does not bother them. Thanks for a new idea.
