Jewelry Box for 2007 State Fair
Hello All,
You all saw the WIP for the Jewelry box which was a gift for a friend. Now I can concentrate on the 2007 State Fair box which will be a duplicate. I'm doing two. One in the Curly English Sycamore/Purple Heart version and the other with exterior in Birds-Eye Maple.
I though it would be good to ask for voting from you great boxmakers on which version you think I ought to enter in the State Fair. Since you've seen the WIP, I'll not post these pictures other than the PIC #1 below with it laid out on my Table Saw.
I'll also show you a WIP of my shop which doubles as "She who must be obeyed"'s garage.

Nice space there Bill and some real nice equipment! Do you have one saw set up to do a dedicated job? You keeping both saws... be my luck I would cut my finger off on the General What jointer is that? Looking forward to seeing the finished box and nice shop!

We must live on this site
For now I'm planning on keeping the General set-up with the miter sled you see on it for small part cutting. It's got a clamp and everything and does a nice job at holding those small pcs., even with making 45's.
The jointer is just an old craftsman. This year I'll upgrade to a big Powermatic Jointer and probably ditch the small bandsaw in favor of a larger one, Laguna probably.
Thanks, ICN Bill

Yeah, seems like it doesn't it. Do you use your jointer much in boxmaking? I don't have a jointer or a planer. I usually buy S2S dimensioned box stock. More expensive that way for sure but I just don't have room for a planer. Could fit a small jointer in somewhere I guess.

Nice shop BWillie - you have some serious equipment there. I must admit that I get a little concerned when I see a shop that clean.
