    Default Jewelry Chest

OK...been away a little while traveling, but...back at it...Thank goodness.

Picture 1 is of the space that this new Jewelry Chest will go into. It's the center cubby hole in the armoire, with as you can see is filled with some of my wifes jewlery still in boxes. I think it's kinda funny, I make all these boxes and haven't yet made one to hold all her things. maybe I'm unconciously a little scared she'll try and fill it up.

Picture 2 is of the two boards that I just made. Originally they were 8 qtr x 16 wide by 10' long. I ripped, resawed, jointed, glued back, planed and came up with these two beauties of cherry that will make up a lot of this chest.

It will have 8 drawers sandwiched by 2 vertical drawers that will slide out in order to hang necklaces, with a pivoting arm once the drawers are fully out to allow the drawer to pivot right or left.

Sorry for not having much more to show as I left my concept drawing at work. I'll post it tomorrow.

    ICN,

    Bill

PS........I'm not really gonna WIP this one, but it really shouldn't take more than a week or so in the evenings to make.

Another masterpiece in the works! Can't wait to see more. I haven't been able to get much done in the shop either Bill due to a kitchen remodel that won't end and traveling for work. Glad your back!

Thanks Corey. I've also got a kitchen remodel coming up. This wknd, I'm picking up the stone and then I've got crown molding to worry over.

But, I'm gonna get this box done if it kills me. Or my wife does

Do what I did Bill, cheat. I got these neat looking decorative corner blocks with a finial pointing down etc. All I had was 90 degree cuts on the molding then. Turned out cool and the wife loves it!
