    Default Kauri jewellery chest

I've been wanting to make some more organic boxes for a while, so when one of my favourite clients wanted an 'out of the ordinary' jewellery chest, we came up with this design.
The base and back are solid kauri, but all the other panels are laminated. All are laminated on the same form.
The drawers have small rare earth magnets front and back, to provide a soft stop when opening and closing them. The drawers are lined with suede leather, and the dividers and drawer trim are made from jarrah.

Still have to finish the dividers. The finish is Kunos oil over shellac.

Thanks for the kind words, folks. I'll post a couple of pics of the drawers when the inserts are finished.

Another top one Alex and as usual, I learned something. The 'soft-stop' magnets are a great idea. (Filed away for future reference.)

    Absolutely beautiful Alex.
And my head I'd be a scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.
