Lidded Boxes
Made with Cragana. Finished with 1 coat of BLO and 2 coats of Minwax Satin WOP.
The one on the left measures 3-1/4" Tall x 1-7/8" OD x 1-13/16" ID
The one on the right measures 3" Tall x 1-9/16" OD x 1-1/2" ID
Comments and or suggestions are appreciated.

I like the timber and I like the boxes, but I'm not too sure that the two go together well.
Still, they're a different design. It must've been a pain trying to remove the minimum kerf when seperating (twice!), to keep the grain matched!

See, I am of the opinion that no timber is actually ugly. Not all timber can be as showy as highly figured bocote or cocobolo or as dramatic as flame maple or even as breathtaking as some exotic burl, but if one approaches a piece of timber openly and actually converses with it, there is nearly always some inner beauty to be found. This timber in question here, Cragana, is certainly different. I admit to not being familiar with it. But the dramatic difference between the heartwood and the sapwood and the play of colors and the way they work with the shape of the boxes just make you want to touch it. And that is one of the features that make these boxes winners.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.
