    Default little rustic trinket box

found an old kero crate falling apart in a skip and a couple of the side slats were broken.

pulled it apart and decided to make a mitre corner box with rubber band method. i had a bit of trouble with my SCMS tearing chunks off but i do like battered and distressed looking things so i persisted. i have nfi about finishing things, but my gf shares my taste for rustic look so i just did a heap of random stuff to it:

stuck some filler in. coated with poly, sanded off. sprayed with wax and grease remover, rubbed with 0000, sanded across grain with old worn 120 grit with metal bits stuck in it, rubbed some carnauba paste in, rubbed with 0000 again along grain.

the hinge rebate is atrocious haha dunno what happened there. adds to the charm maybe

need to finish the inside with something, involves undoing the nuts and bolts again i stalled on that but will get to it today maybe.

made the catch with shoe tack and a nail, but first one i have done- i realised that i should have bent it then flattened it but i used it anyway.

    anyway, this is the monster.

Love it. I've been doing similar lately after making a jig and practising finger joints. Love the "rustic" look on yours.
