    Default A little test box

I've finally turned a little box out of mistletoe on stringy bark to see if it will hold together. See what you think? the problem is where the mistletoe attaches to the host is a very very weak connection. I'm thinking of joining with Automotive resin even a contrasting colour like yellow. Any opinions would be helpful. Sorry about the photos

    Default Great work.

    Two thumbs up from me.

It has the appearance of a once sound container subjected to the ravages of the elements over several decades. Well done.

Look for a different host species Tim! Mistletoe on Moreton Bay Ash (AKA Blackbutt, Dawson Gum) bonds really well and they grow to about 6" diameter - one of my very early posts on this forum was a closed bowl in this combination. I've got a monster in the shed at the moment from a Yellowjacket that looks like a heart but I have no idea what I'm going to do with the sucker (or when I'll get time) The log behind it as about 8" diameter for scale. The tree had literally dozens on it but I got dibs on this one first - what do you reckon you could do with this one??? The other pic is some of the smaller ones about 5-6" across.
