Default Looking for stop hinges, can anyone help?

I bought some stop hinges a couple of years ago on the interweb, and have just used the last of them.
They are a cheap folded antique brass look 95 degree stop hinge and i haven’t been able to find anything like it anywhere
If anybody knows please let me know
I'm not really in the market for the $17 a pair (or more) solid brass stop hinges (nice as they are).
These were only a couple of bucks a pair from memory and suit the boxes i make
Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hugh,

Closest thing I've seen is this one at Small Box Hardware in the US. Less than $1 a pair. Not antique finish though.

I've also used the Highpoint piano hinges (a stop hinge) from Timberbits and they seem to work OK for cheapies: Highpoint Stop Brass Hinge

    Good luck.

Not quite what you are looking for, but I have used these 95 degree strap hinges from McJings, and they are fairly easy to install. Price is $3 - $4 per pair.

Have you checked McJings, in Sydney. They have lots of cheap hinges, usually a few stop versions among them. Has a website.

    Cheers

    Default Why cheap hinges?

    Hi Hugh,

Those boxes look to be good quality so I was wondering why you want cheap hinges? I find that good quality hinges and catches greatly improve the look and value of boxes. Premium products should get premium prices. I agree that the most expensive hinges like Brusso etc. are so expensive that they might make your product unsaleable but there are good quality hinges at much lower price points. For example, Gerner Hinges or Hinges | Goods & Chattels and there are also other decent quality cast hinge suppliers that I've used and seen listed on other threads here.
