All waxed up and done. I reckon it didn't turn out too badly, the tary sort of work inside the box. Here are heaps of photos to enjoy the radiance of the Mahogany.
Cheers

Great box, Jacques. I’m not usually a big fan of mahogany but that grain is a real standout and it seems to work really well with the design of the top. The lid ‘stop’ is so simple but so effective.
I’m already looking forward to your next creation
By the way, which of Doug Stowe’s books was this in?

I'm with you Brian, Mahogany is a very "heavy" or "moody" timber. I prefer Walnut over Mahogany any day.
Its from this book from Doug. I reckon I have all his books by now [emoji16]. One thing I noticed is that a lot of the detail how-to is not written down so when trying to reproduce any of the boxes in the book takes some DIY.
I reckon next up is something with drawers, similar to the slanted drawer box on the photo below, or perhaps an oak wall cabinet for my chisels and saws.

Very nice result Jacques. The style and the timber make it look like an antique piece (to me anyway). I only have one of Doug's books that covers the basics of boxmaking, which I must re-read again as some things don't sink in when you are really new to a new discipline. Maybe they will make more sense now after making some inroads into this great art.
