    Talking Medal Box

I was asked to make a box for some medals for a friend.
The box has given me an excuse to bust out my Gifkins jig which I haven't used for nearly a decade, and been a fun reminder about why I loved using it. The lid has a recess to allow my friend to put unit insignia and badges on the front in resin.

I haven't sanded or glued anything yet. It will be finished in a baltic stain, and my friend is going to line some of it with felt. I picked up some small decorative hinges and latches for the front.

I used just about every tool I own, and can't believe how much sawdust there is around the workshop

That is a terrible state to find yourself in; you need to get some more. You must NEVER get that close to running out of tools again.

A decade and not using your Gifkins Jig,..!!!, thats terrible. You should be severely reprimanded. Nice box though Craig, should come up very smick indeed. Looking forward to seeing the end result.

Nice box. So once you glue it up you've only got the sanding and finishing to go , you're actually only halfway there. Not hard to tell which bits of making a box I enjoy.
