    Default Money Box

Made this little money box from the scrap bin. This is for the grandson Harry.
I am not sure of the wood all I know it was a Patio Table in its former life and the letter is an off cut of beech cut out on the fretsaw.
Size is 3 3/" tall by 4 1/2"wide and 2" deep all the edges are chamfered

    Hope toy like it

That's a great idea to use up the scrap.

    Default Great job

Great little project and how proud would you be if your granddad made you one of those as a little tacker. Fantastic!

Nice one Derek, and I particularly like the 'hatch' on the bottom.
(I might have to borrow that idea sometime.)

Thank you all for the great comments. This type of money box are probily one of the easiest to make and can be personalised so simply.

The Hatch or stopper whatever you wish to call it is so simple to do.

I have put a link above to another web site that I use where I have done a WIP for it if this is unacceptable by the Moderators let me know and I will rewrite it on this site, so feel free to remove it if it breaks any rules.

Thanks for that Derek. Much appreciated.

I was thinking you used a router w/ template. Forstner bits are even easier. I've copied your link for reference.
I don't have a lathe to make the bung, but could use one of my wheel making jigs and the Dremel or disc sander for that, or even a holesaw as you suggest.
