Mounting 90 degree lock hinges on a box
Hi all,
I am having difficulty mounting the said hinges to boxes. When I mount them flush with the box carcass and the lid, I find that the box will not close. Digging deeper into the box doesn't seem to work. Am I perhaps trying to mount the hinge too close in to the box?
Here's a pic of what I want to do.
Thanks,
Rob

Hinges
Hi Rob, I have used the Brusso 95 degree hinges on a number of boxes and have had no problem as you describe. I have some of the 90 degree version from Carba-tec but have not yet used any. It will be interesting to see if any other forumites have any views on the problem. I can only think that maybe the hinges should may be moved slightly further out from the box frame but only trial and error will prove anything one way or the other. I will watch for other replies with interest, meanwhile good luck. Brian.

The first time I used the Brusso 95 degree hinges I let them too far into the box sides and the lid wouldn't open. I had to remount the hinge with the whole of the barrell protruding from the rear of the box to get the hinge to work.
Could this be the problem?

Hi all,
Homesy,
I think you might be right.
I have resolved the issue, apparently by taking more care with the paring of the size and width of the hinge rebates.
Hooray!!
Regards,
Rob
