    Default First Octagonal box

    I wanted to try an octagonal box.
    Photos of the prototype.
    Critique and comments appreciated. Form and proportions????
    Not sure whether to do a lid finial or just a feature bit.
    Happy with the process. Made with scrap/crap pine and ply.

    Nah, just aflat lid. Compound cuts a bit out of my league.
    Looking through my stash of wood trying to find the right pieces.

    Nice result on the compound cuts, especially with 8 sides. The more sides, the more any errors will be magnified.
    FWIW, I'd put a finial or a lifting handle on the lid.
