Default A pair of jewellery boxes - Rosewood and Sassy

I've made 2 almost identical jewellery boxes for my daughters. Both have birthdays this week.

Rosewood with a sassy veneered panel for the lid. I used the SmartHinge for these - very easy to fit

    Finish is Miniwax Wipe-On poly.

    Comments and criticisms welcome.

Very nice boxes indeed The Smart hinges certainly take the guesswork out of the job don't they!?!

Those dovetails are awfully tidy looking . . . please don't tell me you did them by hand

    Thumbs up

Boxes look super, choice of timber stands out well, something that should last their lifetime as well.

hi ajw, you have got the proportions very nicely done. Can you give us an idea of the dimensions for the boxes and the trays please?

I bet the daughters were very happy

    I admired your work immensely.
Would you mind telling me what a Smart Hinge is and where they can be purchased.
    Thank you,

    Hi Paul,

thanks for the kind words. Your first post on the forum is about one of my boxes! Feeling special.

You can see videos of the SmartHinge on YouTube. Beware though - they are expensive. I think they're worth the cost for special items.

    cheers,
