Default Blackwood, River Red Gum, wooden hinge, document box

    Hi all,
Here is a new box given to one of dad's golfing mates for his 78th B'day today.

Tassie blackwood, purchased green 2 years ago, with a River Red Gum insert lid. The lid framing was a result of my precut timber planned for a square box and Dad wanting a rectangular box hence not enough timber for a mitred lid.

Finished with white shellac, EEE and Natural Wax.

    regards
    Billy

Love the feet, handle and hinges - great accents and not least, overall a very beautiful box.

    Cheers

    Thumbs up

Billy that is a really good looking box.

I like it's strong stance on those feet.

Thanks for the positive comments everyone, much appreciated.

Jack, the hinges are a variation on those shown in the attached.

I love the whole box but especially the wood hinges, can you please post a closeup on the hinge?
    Thanks

Box looks great. Nice present. Love the work on the hinges.
    Reality is no background music.

Very nice looking box! I love the hinges.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.
