This has got to be the best use for a hand made box presented on these forums in a long while. We often marvel at the picturesque sea side paddocks which Tasmanian sheep get to enjoy. I think your daughter's cockroach will enjoy a similar level of luxury and be the envy of all others.

P.S. One of the nicest surprises when we moved from Brisbane to Hobart was that there are no big cockroaches here.

There will be when Dengue's daughter comes for a holiday! When I saw the thread title I had to check the calendar - April 1st is not far away. Anyhoo, nice job with the cockroach looxury villa.

You got it, Bob. I knew I had to get up early to catch you guys out, so I decided to prank exactly 2 weeks before 1 April.
It is actually a container for 20 pair of stud ear rings. Each ear ring has a piece about 10 mm long which goes in the hole, and the little clasps are contained in the drawer.
Waiting to get some from my granddaughter so I can show you what it will look like

Here is what a tiny sample of 10 yr old granddaughter's collection of stud type earrings looks like. She has hundreds, apparently

Default Double decker cockroach transport box

Another 10 yr old granddaughter wanted a similar box, but with two drawers. so I made two, another for my third granddaughter.

Made of 10mm huon pine case all joined together with 4mm dowels, and 12mm drawer fronts of Australian Red Cedar, with polished brass drawer pulls from Goods and Chattels in Brisbane. Finished in FW Tung Oil. Takes ages to dry.

It was a big success with the girls.

If I make any more, they will have the two drawers on side runners, without the need for the centre tray support frame. Too many different grains in the front view on these existing ones. And I will not be using Tung Oil.

Very nice Dengy, all you need to do now is make a set of cocky shaped earrings for each of them - Qld size of course .
