Thread: Seeing stars

Here is another box made to suit someones obsession. she is nuts for 5 pointed stars, and the color pink. the box was originally all Messmate, and the lining all black, but after a small accident, i had to remake the top frame, and as i couldnt match the timber, i went completely different with blackwood, so made the foot base in the same. The top insert is solid bookmatched rosegum, which has a pink hue, and the stars are blackwood set in to it by hand (i dont think i will do that again). The pink felt in the top tray was also done after the damage, at her specific request. Yes she chose that color . Finish is Danish oil
