    Cool The pirate chest

    Hi all,

Thanks for some good links, I think the curved top is the go. The appropriate hardware was very hard to find, I had to paint most of it so it matched.

I used maranty frame with ply inserts. home mix of stain to get the grey colour.

    Default Ahoy Matey...

    Well, Blow me down...

    I like it....

Though it looks like it's been plundered already...

    ...The treasure. Where's the treasure?

Oh. I get it.. The chest IS the treasure!

Shiver me timbers.... Gonna have to make me one of those...
“When we build, let us think that we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work as our descendants will thank us for; and let us think...that a time is to come when those (heirlooms) will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, ‘See! This our father did for us.’ “ --John Ruskin. Audels Carpenters and Builders Guide, 1923 Theo Audel & CO. New York.

Love that colour. Could you give a recipe for the stain mix.And how about some dimensions of the chest. Very nice work, looks terrific.
    Reality is no background music.
    Cheers John
