Default Another use for plastic lunch wrap

Hi all just a quick post on a trick I use when doing a small box insert. I used to shape, cut & glue the individual pieces of wood in. A lot of the time I had to try & finesse the fit so the lid closed properly without catching. Now I cut & glue up the 4 pieces using blue tape & the plastic wrap stops any glue squeeze out sticking the insert in the box. After the glue dries I can shape the insert before I glue it in.

Huon & Myrtle plastic wrap.jpg A very nice bit of TAS Myrtle Burl in the lid insert. Huon & Myrtle top.jpg

    Cheers.

I do the same with suede covered floating box bottoms. Cover the bottom panel with plastic wrap and insert the panel when gluing up the box, then when it's dry, remove the plastic. It stops any squeeze-out getting on the suede.
