Pretty dang proud of this one.

Made from Tassie Blackwood and Australian Teak.
Laminated a strip of teak between 2 blackwood boards and using cove and bead at top and round-over on bottom and joining base of cove with edge of round-over with a table saw cut.

Usual story, highly figured blackwood does not photograph well, but amazing in hand.

The inside has been sealed whilst I decide if anything is to be done.

Finishing is gloss wipe on poly, been a pain waiting for sunny, low humidty days to do it.

    Approx 120x190x75mm.

    You should be proud

    Very nice.
I could make one just like that.....if I was as good as you.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Nice box. I love the profile and that blackwood timber looks alive. Nicely finshed too.

How many coats of wipe-on did you use? And did you sand between coats? If you don't mind me askin' that is.

    Thanks for replies guys

How many coats of wipe-on did you use?
Sealed timber with Wattyl Sealer, hand rubbed, light sand. Then 2 coats poly, sand, 2 coats, sand, 2 coats, sand to establish a good base. Then a final coat.

The coats were rubbed on so they are thin, thats why only every 2nd coat was sanded.
