Quality box locks ?
Hello, as a first attempt at fitting a lock to a box, I have purchased a cheap ($15) mortice lock but am disappointed in the quality of it. The key is very loose fitting, and the opening in the escutcheon plate is much bigger than the key hole in the lock mechanism. I am reluctant to use it as it would cheapen the quality of the box.
can anyone please advise where I might get good quality locks, brass in appearance?regards,
Dengy

You can get them from Hardware for creative finishes, who are great to deal with.

Box locks
Dengue, I have only just seen your post and expect you have your lock by now but if you are still not happy and you want to try some exquisitely well made locks then the 'Neat Locks' found on the following link, they are not cheap but if you are making a high quality box then these will make you happy, easy to fit and lock with a very satisfying and solid click.
