Sewing Box
This is a couple of boxes I knocked together for a client out of MDF . They will be used to hold needle work cotton . I was pleased with the way the raw boxes turned out and am over the moon with the finished product. I can,t take credit for the finish as it was done by a lady that does craftwork.

G'Day Pal
They look great,
Just as well you didn't take credit for the art work I recon you would have been flooded with work.
Nice stuff, Its amazing what can be done with MDF, skill and some paint.

Very nice Pal!
Those drawers look like a perfect size for the cottons and the linen etc. Definitely worth the mdf itch (I hope ! )Box Challenge 2011 - Check out the amazing Boxes!

Hi RufflyRustic,
Yes they were most definitely worth the itch and rash.
Just a little disappointed with the hinges would have liked to hide them but that is how the client wanted them . It matches another sewing box that she had.

er, yeah, I did wonder about the hinges, but matching another cabinet box makes sense. The client must sew/embroider some beautiful work, considering how talented she is with paintbrush.
cheers

No mate I don't take the easy way out unless of course it is the best way, I spent about an hour trying to talk the client out of doing the hinges that way even offered to change the hinges on the original, as you can see to no avail anyhow she is over the moon with the boxes so i guess that is the main thing.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. Nice work, now you need to make one from real wood and get her to put her handy work on it!(and hide them hinges )

hi harry72
Already in the pipe line will use Silver Ash for the doors and drawer fronts and Tas Blackwood for the top , bottom and the gables. Want some Pyrography done on the doors though rather than the paint.
