masterful
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Gorgeous Alex!
I like the curved shape. Did you cut the dovvies first, and then shape?

Very Nice! I love the curve to it and the complimenting handle. Can you open it for us? A box just has to be opened!

Yep, cut & assembled first, then cut male & female templates of the side shape from MDF. Used the male template to mark out, then cut the bulk of the waste off on the TS. Shaped the long sides by planing from each end, re-marked the ends and shaped them, then smoothed all sides with a file & sandpaper, checking with the female template. The lid was shaped the same way - the top of it is just shaped by eye.
Filled with woodgrain filler coloured with umber, sanded to 400 then about 6 coats of shellac, smoothed off with 2000 grit at the end. 1 coat of trad. wax.
I'll post a pic with the lid off ASAP.

Great handbag... I mean box. Have to make sure the missus doesn't see this post, otherwise she is going to want one. Seen the curved dovetails in a book I have been keen in giving it a go.

That is really nice. I love the shape. Nice curves and the curved handle to match the lines is great. Dovetails are beautiful. Well done.
