    Default Sheoak Pencil Box

I had some left over Sheoak from a table and decided to make a pencil box. The body of the box is Sheoak with a Tassie Oak lid.

I don't know what the veneer in the bottom is as it came with a bunch of stuff I ordered when I was in Tassie last year. The lady who sent the veneers over kindly chucked in a heap of other stuff which I have been using for box lids.

    Finished in Organoil.

The colouring is a little off as I have a problem with the camera and it is making reds and oranges come out a bit strange. The Sheoak piece is very orange. Have to keep making hints for my next birthday present

    Cheers

Nice box joints! All in all, a nice little pencil box.

Nice box. Sheoak is a great timber for boxes. I find that turning the flash off and using outside shade gives a better colour. Not always, but most times.

Funny you should make a pencil box. I was thinking only today of making one myself similar to the old ones that were around when I was a boy. Nice work looks great.
