Not too many at home, Cliff (SWMBO may disagree!). Most these days are commissions. The silver quandong one will go to a gallery when I've got enough to make the trip worthwhile.

Can you explain how the top was made. The curve is so precise, and the insert appears to fit so well. How is that curve accomplished?
    It is a beautiful piece.

    Thanks Alan,
The ends of the frame and the panel were both made from three laminations on the same female form. The slot for the panel was cut on the router table.
The tops of the box sides were marked from the frame ends, then fine tuned when the lid was assembled.

Thanks all. Re post 23, it should be a male form, not female. My mistake, sorry.

You did have me wondering about which bit of the form you used.

    Alex
    that is a beautiful box
I'm not sure what I admire more
    your craftsmanship
    your design
    your choice of timber

as a personal project I have the need to make at least one keepsake box.
can I PM you to talk about the project?
    regards from Alberta, Canada
