Three similar but different boxes
Hi gang, I just made 3 similar but different boxes. Different joints being dovetail, finger and mitre joints. I experimented with contrasting timbers, very happy with the rosewood and white cedar one. I might make a larger version of that particular box. They are all 250mm x 150mm, thats my stock size.
The other timbers used here are Snakewood and Queensland Beech, and a gum species not totally sure which one.

Nice work Paul, the box with the mitred lid is the pic for me. What is the infill Panel?

Thanks double.d Those three boxes were more experimental but I agree, the mitred lid one is by far the best. I wont be doing any more of the other two. The one with the 100 degree butt hinges, they were a pain in the butt,...to install. The one you mentioned, I have just started making a larger version of that one, I make my larger boxes 300mm x 185mm. The infill is very old Rosewood. (other timber is White Cedar).
