    Default Simple Box

Has to be simplest box I've built for ages, recycled hoop pine(?) picture frame and off-cut of Red Cedar, burgandy flocking inside, 3 coats of wipe on poly.

Have noticed finishing is taking up more time these days, although construction of above box was done within an afternoon, finishing took over a week.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

    Beautiful box, Cruzi,
Seems that the more things you make, the more you realize finish is the most important part, though many just don't seem to understand this.

    Regards,

Tom, perhaps more polite to put those in your own new thread rather than hi-jack someone else's?

    Nice boxes though

It was never my intention to be impolite on the forum but I have taken your suggestion and removed them to another thread. Sorry if this offended anyone.

    Default Curved sides

I love the box. How did you make the curved sides. Bandsaw? Hand plane and rasp?

The shape was "pre-fab", it was the profile of the picture frame that was used, re-cut mitres for vertical rather than horizontal.

Have started another box with a similar profile, that was done with a round over bit on bottom, a bead and cove bit on top and a careful slicing with table saw.
There is a couple of "proof of concept" boxes being done now, will eventually post pics if they ever get finished.
