    Default Simple Trinket Box

    Hi there folks,

Well I have to admit, I'm a bit nervous about posting this.

[In this section of the forum we've got inlayed wooden hinges and beautiful intarsia-decorated boxes with gorgeous timbers and exquisite workmanship, and here I come along with my clunky hand-tools and Tassie oak.]

But, as I've been told on here before, we've all got to start somewhere.

So although this probably looks a bit dismal to you lot, this is a big achievement for me and I'm quite pleased with my progress so far at this woodworking caper.

I knocked out a bunch of these boxes as inexpensive gifts for sundry folk.

Very quick build and nothing much of note to mention. I had to channel the staples to make them close true, which was annoying. The hardware was sold to me as "hand polished, solid brass", and it's neither. Caveat emptor . Hand-rolled on the sander.)

    Regards,
    Matt.
