    Ruddy,
    Many thanks for sharing your knowledge and taking the time to post the detailed instructions.

    Where you have made a groove in the base of the box to allow the lid to swing open, would it be possible to curve/radius the bottom edge of the lid to match the curve of the top hinge leaf to allow the lid to open (if you see what i mean)?

    Hi Andersonic,
    I guess it would be possible to add a curved piece to fill the gap created by the groove in the base. The groove is there to allow the lid to open as it gives clearance for the 'swing"on the lid edge. I have done a sketch to show what I mean.
    The very mechanics of this lid design is that the hinge point is not on the split line of the base and the lid. This allows you to be able to inlay the hinges and get a perfectly flush face on the back of the box and it also allows the lid to open to just over 90 degrees and then stop.
