    Hi Bill,

Good looking box - how have you finished the inside?

Like Dengue, I’d be very interested to know how you did the lid decoration.

I’m also intrigued to know whether you ever got to build the 10 sided box with the complex mechanism on the end opening.

    Welcome back, by the way!

    Brian

    Happy to!
I have worked most of my life in the printing industry and was in the prepress side of things. So I learned a lot about computer graphics and I drew the design for this case on my home computer. Emailed this to a local guy that had a large laser engraver and he engraved it for me. I used 2 part epoxy and black die for the inlay. It is hard to see but I also applied a little diluted blue die to the "cubes of chalk" in the design. The top and bottom of this case are figured cherry and the sides are black walnut.
I have started a facebook page and that is the best way to reach me. Just search William Filipiak or WAF Custom Cue Cases if you want to see more of my work. Most of my pictures are on my phone but I am having issues uploading them to this site. I'm sure I will figure it out at some point but it has been a few years since I was here last!!
I have so many cases I would like to share here!! The design you see here is a 2x1 meaning 2 cue shafts and 1 cue butt. It has become my favorite design and I have made many like this. I have tried a few different woods and altered the engraving to have a 9ball in the center. I can't wait to show you my latest case made from solid Ebony!!

I prefer to used crushed velvet because the wrinkles that are in the fabric hide my upholstery messups! I have a knack for wood work but the fabric end of things are taking longer to pick up.IMG_0014.jpgDSCN7227.jpgIMG_0027.jpg

I thought up the design and drew it on my computer at home. I emailed it to the guy who has a rather large laser engraver. He then engraves it to about 1/8" deep and I filled that in with 2 part Epoxy mixed with black Epoxy dye. I have since modified it to have a 9 ball in the center for another case.
