    Default Tissue box

O.K. So it's not a jewelry box or a keepsake box. But these are quick and easy to make and people really seem to like them.

Thanks all, the box is made of canarywood (not sure what you'all call it down under) with tulipwood and wenge stripes. The splines are bocote. Tulipwood is one of my very favorite woods to work with. Very easy to work and forgiving with lots of colors. All it needs is a little oil to bring it out.

This is absolutely the best tissue box I have ever seen. Sort of upgrades the contents. I like using canary wood. I've made several projects with good success and yours really stands out. great job!

    What's left to say?

(Now, who's gonna clean up all the drool?)
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Beautiful box Cisco. That wood does have some nice figure in it. I was wondering how thick are the sides of the box.

I have saved a picture of it and will probably try to make one for my wife. That is really nice.

Glad you all like it. MLSA, the sides are a bit thick at 22mm. I just got tired of planing the stuff. The top is 19mm which is what I usually use to build these. A word about the top - I didn't have a piece of wood wide enough to span the top so I dug about in my scrap box and came up with the tulipwood and wenge and glued them up, ran the whole thing back through the planer and voila!
