Hi Box Makers,
Although I am a very recent registered user to this forum, I have been reading your posts for about a year now. I have seen many beautiful works of art and would like to comment on them in the future so I signed up. I've been working in wood for 50+ years now as a hobby but only recently found an interest in making boxes that are as much art as functional. Up to now, my specialty was cabinet furniture making.
I am adding some pictures of my first jewelry box that was made for my daughter-in-law for last Christmas. She was quite pleased with it and I offer it for your viewing.
I hope to participate in this forum in the future and will try to post pictures as I complete projects.

Thanks
Thanks Ruffly, the wood (timber) is called Canary wood. Found it in a Woodcraft store while in Florida about a year and a half ago and had to have for my box making supply.

Welcome to the forum. Your years of experience are obvious. This is a beautiful box and the choice of timbers goi well together. Look forward to more posts.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

You're from central Illinois? Do you mind me asking where? I'm just East of St. Louis. I find it interesting that a pair of guys from Illinois would end up on an Australian forum.

Avengers63,
About 30 miles north of Peoria in a small town called Henry. I searched the web for boxmaking articles and ran across this forum and have been reading it ever since.

I'm in California and have been on this forum for a couple years. It's a great place. Lots of encouragment and little to no criticism.
