walnut bank
I think it is a box. I make these for children when the need arises. The doors are made from recycled antique mailbox doors. This one is made from American black walnut with a Danish oil finish applied with 0000 steel wool and much rubbing. I made this for the thirteen year old girl who lives next to our farm and put sixty dollars in it for taking care of my calves for three days last week while I was away. She's great with the animals and a good little worker.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Great idea and good work. I'm sure she loves it!

G'day Cisco,
both the box & the thought behind it are a happy thing.

Well, while $60 may seem extravagant, when I returned home and found out that not only had she fed and watered them every night, she had come over every morning before school and gave them some morning grain, I felt I owed her something nice. In addition to keeping them fed, she cleaned out their stalls each night and, using the small tractor and a wagon hauled the spent straw over the hill to the pile. And, she made rope halters for them and put them on them every night and brushed them. These are going to be some mighty tame cows thanks to Kaitlyn. I'm lucky to have such a responsible young teen living next door. It helps that she loves the animals.
Just for information - the reason these calves are in the barn getting this treatment is that I am weaning them and, therefore, have separated them from their mothers. This is generally harder on the mothers than the calves. I will be happy when I can return them to the herd and everybody calms down. When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

If I had kids like that available around here, I'd be broke.....'cos they're worth every penny.
Sound's a nice kid.

Cisco,
Thanks for the offer, but I found and won a pretty good deal on eBay for one and think I have located a nice coin slot like yours. Now all I have to do is figure out how to make the box partCheers,
Bob

No problem. Here's where I got mine. He's a nice old guy and I'm sure he will work with you on shipping to Oz. This is also where I get the coin slots. They make a nice finishing touch.
