No, I use powder pigments. Used to be able to get them from Stimpsons in Balmain, but since they've closed you probably need to go to an art supplies shop, or maybe brickies' pigment would work. Ochre, umber & venetian red will make up most wood colours. A little bit goes a long way.

I've read somewhere that you can use the pigment sticks from art supply shops. You just scrape enough off a stick to make a powder and mix with the epoxy
these sort of thingsregards

A couple of years ago I was in Margaret River in WA and visited the magical Jahroc furniture gallery and the Gold n Grape furniture gallery at Pemberton.
They had some really top of the range furniture and board room tables etc, and I noticed that they used a lot of black tinted glossy epoxy on their jarrah tables, and it looked greatregards,

I'm thinking of having a curve on the sides of my tray. I suppose the best way to do this would be to trace out a template, cut it on the bandsaw then smooth it with a spokeshave and use this as a template on the router table. I don't have a spokeshave and I'd usually use some thin plywood with sandpaper to smooth the edge but the curve will be too tight.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy, I usually use 10mm MDF for templates - easy to shape, and strong enough to use with a pattern bit without losing its shape

Thanks for replying Dengy. It's the shaping part that I need ideas for?

Hi,
What radius are you looking at? I am thinking of a circle cutter on the band saw. Cut an arc to the larger radius then move it in the amount of the thickness you want and resaw and you should have your curved piece.

I don't have rasps either... Maybe it's time invest in a spokeshave?
