Frank, Namtrak: The name comes from the colour of the bark, it's a greyish blue colour. There's alot of them around here, we mill a fair bit of it at work which is where the blanks were from.

John: Photos will be posted in a separate thread. Half of the judging points will comes from a poll (like the last challenge) and the other half will come from two judges (Chris Vesper and ?) Whether the entries will remain anonymous during the judging is undecided. I say they shouldn't

Mic-d: The timber was there since I started working at the mill, so I know that it's been drying for at least 8 months. Probably a 10 month minimum, so it's pretty dry.

Go on! Get off the computer and into the workshop!

    No mate! I am making tomorrow's anti-q's

redressed my board today to get it flat and resawed it into 9mm boards. I'll let them sit for a few weeks before I start. I can only work with a deadline coming!
    Cheers

Hmm, interesting and timely. If the decision is made to honor me as a judge, then I'll happily send my piece of camphor on to the next entrant-in-waiting. I've just been put on another huge project at work that is going to need a bit of weekend work over the next few months so was seriously considering having to pull out.

    cheers
    Wendy

I got my timber today and boy there is really not much timber in it. How on earth am I going to make a box out of it. There is no room for error.

    Has anyone started yet?

I am working on some drawings and the finished dimensions at the moment. Next I will make a few jigs and I should be able to cut the timber by the end of next week.

    Have fun everyone.
