    Default Butt Hinge Jig

    Within the last week or so I saw a jig on the Fine Woodworking site that allowed for easy set up on the router table to make mortices for butt hinges. The jig was very simple consisting of a stick the length of the box with a cut out at one end to locate the hinge.
    I would like to re-read the instructions but I have not been able to find the article again on the Fine Woodworking web site.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have seen an article you are referring to in FWW, but could not locate it. There is a video of how to use story sticks in making butt hinge mortices.

    Have a look here, but look up the episode called " Mortised Butt hinges" : Basic Box-Making - Fine Woodworking
