    * update *
I emailed Leigh industries to enquire about their shipping policy to Carbatec & got a reply within hours from the Leigh General Manager who took my details & contacted Carbatec himself to try & sort out the issue (and has since followed up with me ... exceptional service !)

To cut a long story short I got a call from Carbatec & I'm being sent a jig from Carbatec in Adelaide at no postage costs. The Carbatec contact said they have ongoing issues with their freight and didn't seem to have a fix for it for the foreseeable future unfortunately. To be honest I always get good service from Carbatec in store but I honestly wonder why I couldn't have been offered a jig from another store sooner ? I've been waiting for over 2 months !

Moral of the story (for me at least) is to continue to shop at Carbetc when needed but DO NOT order anything that they don't have in stock (and comes from OS) unless you wish to wait and wait and wait...

Thanks for the offer undies but I've already paid for my jig & thanks SB for searching through your receipts for me ! Much appreciated.

I'm not defending Carbatec's practices around estimated delivery times, but if you want something that comes from the US or Canada, that is not in stock AND you are not prepared to pay air freight -- 2 months would be about the absolute minimum delivery time.

To give you an idea of timings...
I'm currently looking to piggy-back an item weighing 42 kg into a container leaving Norway early next year.
For this particular importer, orders for the shipment are now open and will close around mid-December but the container won't arrive in Aus till after Easter. That works out at about a 4 month wait for an order placed today.
    regards from Alberta, Canada

Default Not normally one to complain but ..... so frustrated !

I would have thought that the retail 101 manual would have suggested checking your own inventory before placing another order for stock. Sell what you have already purchased.

Why does it take three enquiries from the customer before they actually decide to check stock within their own network. From my understanding Adelaide is one of those stores owned by Brisbane.

It is understandable that when a store places an order for a larger quantity of stock from overseas it will take longer than a single purchase which can often be squeezed in with another shipment, however after the initial 4 weeks it would have been wise to try and find an alternative for the client and not just keep extending the timeframes.

    I ordered this:

Dewalt DCZ211S2R 10.8V Cordless li-ion Subcompact Drill Driver and Impact Driver Twin Pack (2 Batteries) in Organiser Box (DCZ-211-S2R)

on Friday from the UK. It arrived at my house in Melbourne yesterday. If it had not been for the Melbourne Cup I would have had it on Wednesday. When I have ordered online through Carbatec they take over a week to get items to me. Typically they would still be 'processing' the order by this stage.

    Sums it all up really.

As a matter of interest, how much for freight?

I think the whole order was about $230.00. You will pay that here but the UK version comes in a systainer whereas the local one comes in bag.

    Got my jig today !!

All set up & ready to go, all I need now is a router that is compatible with the e-bush ....

oh and an instructional DVD as the box didn't have the supposedly inclusive DVD . Not sure if I contact Carbatec or Leigh directly (probably the latter as the box was unopened and Leigh should provide a replacement).
