Good luck at the show, Tom, you sound really organised, and I expect you will have lots of visitors to your shows. What a big effort

I attended one of Tom's sessions today. I enjoyed the session. Versatility and safety are big aspects of what he presents. I purchased the super jig DVD and will have a look when time allows. It seems pretty good from what I saw today.

First impressions of the SuperJig
I attended the woodshow yesterday and finally got to see Tom's SuperJig in action.
1 Jig, so many joints.
It was great to watch Tom, and his assistant Merve, very professionally demonstrate a number of joints from the range that the SuperJig is able to produce.
I saw 3 different sized tennons; normal 90 degree finger joints; finger joints cut at 60 degrees; rased panels produced without monsterous cutters; rounded tennons produced in one (that is a single one) operation and more. Tom also had sample joints on display, including completed boxes and even dovetail joints.
Tom has produced a video showing most of the joints that the Jig can assist you to make. He was selling these, together with some SuperJig construction notes, for $10. And that is probably the best value $10 I have ever spent in my wood working journey. So after watching the video through 2 or 3 times yesterday, I went out to the shed and was able to construct most of the SuperJig from MDF scraps, pine and jarrah scraps. And some glue and screws. (No credit cards were harmed in the making of this Jig - a first for me!)
And while I hadn't planned to be able to go to the woodshow again today, my wife seeing my progress and sensing my excitement - suggested that I return to the woodshow and see what else I could learn in regard to completing and operating the SuperJig.
Today's visit was the icing on the cake. Tom is a very generous wood worker whose teaching spirit and router knowledge is second to none. (Indeed - when I asked about templete guides at the Hitachi stand, they suggested I seek Tom's advice before making my purchase.) Tom explained a few things that I had missed while watching the video and explained some finer points in construction the SuperJig. Also, some of the fixtures that are used together with the SuperJig to produce the Joints. Tom isn't selling the Jigs - he is helping people like me (hobbyist wood worker) to get much more of the potential benefit out of my routers, and I can see that it will make my router usage so very much safer.
Owing to work and travel commitments this week, I won't be able to post much else till Monday week. However, I look forward to posting pictures of my first joints produced using Tom's SuperJig shortly after that.
The Tom O'Donnell SuperJig system is well worth a look if you want to get more out of your router, in the safest possible way.
Have a great week all,
Chris

Well Chris has pretty much said what I would have .Tom's selfless approach in furthering template construction and application is second to none in the Woodworking community in my view.
What he has achieved with this jig, and for a measly $10 anyone can also achieve without the sometimes exhorbitant cost of mass produced jigs that sometimes only carry out a mere fraction of what Tom has produced as is self evident in the DVD.
Tom never ceases to amaze me with his can do thinking outof the box attitude.
Keep up the good work Tom,make no mistake you are appreciated in the woodworking community.
CheersJohnno

Another wood show has gone and I was pleased to have been a part of the many presentations that may have taken place (I had no time to go round and see for myself as I was so busy) Performing the various demonstrations and then following up with a series of question to be answered. Personally I was amazed at what I had produced with this Jig (So many processes). For the past 15 years I have been presenting at various wood shows throughout Australia introducing a number of different Jigs and templates. All my presentations have been around the use of the template guides and introducing Greater Safety Awareness with the router. Even at this stage I have witnessed that the template guides are not being used effectively by a great number of router users. I made two statements at the show “Without the use of the template guides you are not getting the full potential from your router”, in fact you are losing 80% of the routers potential. Also “Adding template guides you will add Greater Safety Awareness with the use of the router”

Thank you for your comments. The DVD mentioned was a collection of how this Super Jig can be used as there were a great number of processes that could be done and I was unable to show such a large number in one session. I put together something that could be taken home and viewed on their TV. To cover the cost I asked for a donation of $10.00 and also included the plans for constructing the Jig. Hopefully those who took up the offer will find great satisfaction in what I have presented.

Many thanks Chris for taking the time to return the second day to check out what other processes could be achieved. You arrived the second day telling me you had gone home straight from the show and into your workshop to start the process of producing the Jig. I was only too pleased to assist you and get you on the right track to completing the Jig and I look forward to your postings on what you have achieved.

Craig,
As stated above I produced a DVD full of a number of various demonstrations also with the detailed instructions on how to construct the Jig for a donation of $10.00 to cover expenses. This offer is available to anyone for a short time plus $5.00 postage and handling.

It was good to catch up with you once more making that long journey from the South, You have been an inspiration to me over the years encouraging me to produce more and more new ideas (Techniques) with the use of the router. I can see I have a lot of work to do now to sit down and write up on all the processes I have achieved with my latest Jig. Producing the items and demonstrating is much easier than writing about it, but it has to be done if I want to get the message over to others.
