router fence
I have just bought a router table (wing extension) and the fence that comes with the table is not too bad, although I will repace the extruded aluminium fences with laminated MDF as I find they are more precise. (The aluminium fences are not perfectly flat so the cuts are adversly effected.
I do miss the option of using the table as a simple jointer (fences are not indivually adjustable) so I thought if I shimmed the outward fence by 1.5mm that would do the job. I just don't know where to go for shims metal say 100x120.
Any suggestions on my issue or indeed the way I can make it work as a jointer would be much appreciated
Regards Ingin

Shimming the outbound fence.
Hi
I have seen suggestions to use laminex or other similar material. I think it iis only about a mm but that is possibly good for less tearout.

Thanks for your suggestion. Formica/Laminex would be perfect, I did not even consider that option. I will go to my local kitchen cabinetmaker to see if he some off cuts.
Thanks again
