Router jig for small ellipse required
I wish to make a template with an ellipse cut in the middle of it measuring 150 x 100.
Can anyone please advise on a jig for a router that can do this?regards,

Jill, I Googled 'elipse jig' and found this router elipse jig. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-61bH15tJmw"].[/ame]
You could make one out of MDF. It works on the same principal as a drawing aid i had. The distance from the edge of the router bit to one of the sliding pivots would represent half the long axis of the elipse and the other would represent half the length of the short axis..
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
Regards, Woodwould.

Many thanks for this WW, but I don't think it would be able to make a small ellipse. The tool cuts an ellipse around the centre base plate, which is fairly large

Use the jig to make an elliptical cut-out in a piece of MDF, then use the MDF as a template to cut the smaller ellipse using a template guide bush.
You may need a few iterations to get to the correct size depending on which bush and router bit combinations you have.John
