Sharing a router jig/tool for molding small rounds
Gday Guys
Sharing something I came up with today.
I wanted to put molding edge on small 70mm/3" blanks that I make stands for "electronic cigarettes".
After loosing a bit of fingernail and bits of wood flying around the shed, I had had enough! Searches on the net for help to no avail, so had to put my thinking cap on.
This is a basic stand I make with edge routing which is not a big problem to do.
Here are the molding bits I wanted to use to fancy up my stands, but where giving me grief.

Here is a wood jig I made up to hold the blanks. 4 holes in a routed piece of wood. lols
I have a template made up for the holes in the base of the stand and screw to wood.
I can rout out around 300deg then turn the piece around 180deg and do the remaining 60deg.
Here is the finished piece. I have some speed and feed rate tuning to do to reduce the burning but definitely works well.
Hopefully this idea might help someone else in the future.
cheers Bob
