    Default Behlen Hydrogold cleanup.

    Hi all,

I decided to give the hydrogold semigloss a go after having a fair bit of success with other waterborne products. It seems to come off the gun ok and the first wash coat looks good. A major problem with the cleanup though, the inside of the gun looked like it'd been coated with white silicon which has taken a couple of hours to clean out. I used the same procedure in cleanup of the other products which is de-ionised water to clean out the product, meths to get out the water then general purpous automotive thinner as a final. At a guess, I'd say it doesn't like the water . Anybody have any clues? I want to rub back and lay another coat tomorrow but I don't want to have to suffer the clean up issue again.

    Os

Well, scratch that question as all went well today. I can only think that the water cleanup yesterday wasn't good enough and some of the WB lacquer reacted with the meths. Made sure it was thoroughly cleaned out today and no issues.
