Had to got to Bunnies Broadmeadows this afternoon.
They have 4 tins of Satin and 2 Gloss.
At checkout, they are asking for postcodes - something to do with new stores and comparison with last year although I do not remember being asked at any other time.Tom

Just remember guys and gals it does have a shelf life so stockpiling it is not a good idea unless you use it regularly.

No, more fun to give your postcode as 9999, then they look dumbfounded and ask where that is! My answer? "can't tell you under our very strict privacy laws".
Sometimes it is nice to get your own back, I notice more and more shops are doing this sort of "survey", not just Bunnings.

I got 2 tins of gloss on the weekend from Bunnings Campbelltown (NSW), they had the new plastic top not the wretched childproof, adultproof, open proof and poorly sealing screw top.
There was gloss and satin still on the shelf and appeared to be fairly new stock.

Ha ha ha ha, well said, Ive used 9389 for a long time and never been questioned. We probably should decide on a dummie postcode so they know that the inhabitants of the forum are watching them too......
The reason they do it is to determine the geograhical spread of the customers of each store. If there are clusters where people travel from and the demographics are right then it makes sense to open a store there. People are inherently lazy and will avoid travelling to far.
Ive noticed product line variations between Bunnies. Once again this makes sense if you want to ingrain yourself as a local home maker store. Barrel nuts for Ikea type furniture gets various stock levels in different locations."We must never become callous. When we experience the conflicts ever more deeply we are living in truth. I was there 3 weeks ago. I found 2 Triton router bits. Great, knowing that they were on sale everywhere so I thought I would try my luck. I went up to this tools expert / helpful old bastard. Instead of finding out the prices like I asked him to, he said those router bits are the most expensive bits I could buy. What the hell did that mean? I know it means “listen my little Chinese friend, they are too good for you. Go and get a box of GMC. By the way do you know how to use a router?”
I makes me bloody mad when I think about it.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

I think this says a lot about the staff's general attitude towards the type of customers they have to deal with, ie people with no idea......'oh, that's nice honey, I wonder what it does'?
Now, if you were to walk into Bunning wearing a Festool cap..... they would bowing to you!
