Cleaning paint: What to use?
G'day, Just a quick question, I have MDF boards painted with black satin enamel, they have all been wet sanded (600grit) to a smooth finish ready for clear coat. What do I use to clean and get rid of the finger marks and general grime so I dont get any fisheye or cratering when applying the clear?

I use a product called prepsol which I bought from : Paintmobile
Most hardware stores sell a wax and grease remover (bunnings have it near the linseed oil, turps and metho etc..) I am not sure how they compare though, I am guessing they are similar products just with different branding.

I have used it on Lacquer and 2pack without a problem. You should be ok, but if possible its worth testing on the back of the peice or on scrap. Originally Posted by sheeny71
